Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the OtterPix Mac application and the otterpix.app website. By installing the app or visiting the site, you agree to them.
1. The service
OtterPix is a Mac image-processing application. Core tools — format conversion, compression, rotation, resize, crop, watermark, QR code, PDF conversion, batch pipeline, AI generation — are free. Five Pro AI features (AI Upscale, AI Cutout, AI Eraser, AI Anonymize, AI Face Restore) require an active OtterPix Pro subscription purchased through the Apple App Store.
2. License
Subject to your compliance with these terms and, for Pro features, an active subscription, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use OtterPix on any Mac you own or control. You may not redistribute the app binary, reverse engineer it except as permitted by applicable law, or remove proprietary notices.
3. Subscriptions and billing (Apple App Store)
OtterPix Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at purchase confirmation. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on Mac, or at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Refunds are handled per Apple's refund policy at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. Your content
You own every image you load, process, or generate with OtterPix. The Mac app processes images entirely on your device; we never receive, see, or store them. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to use any input image or AI prompt, and for how you use the outputs.
5. AI-generated content
The AI models bundled with OtterPix are third-party open-source models (Flux 2 Klein 4B under Apache 2.0, Real-ESRGAN, BiRefNet, LaMa). Generated outputs are not pre-filtered. You must not use the AI features to create content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, depicts real individuals without consent, or violates Apple App Store guidelines. You bear sole responsibility for content you produce.
6. Regional availability
AI Image Generation is currently unavailable in the version of OtterPix distributed through the mainland-China Mac App Store, in order to comply with applicable local regulations on generative-AI services. All other features — including AI Upscale, AI Cutout, AI Eraser, AI Anonymize, AI Face Restore, and the entire image-processing toolset — remain available in every region we ship to. We may revise this availability as the regulatory landscape evolves.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use OtterPix to process content you do not have rights to; to attempt to extract, redistribute, or fine-tune the bundled model weights outside their own licenses; or to interfere with the app or website (scraping, denial of service, security probing without authorization).
8. Third-party software and licenses
OtterPix includes open-source components, each governed by its own license: Flux 2 Klein 4B (Apache 2.0), Real-ESRGAN, BiRefNet, LaMa (research / Apache 2.0), MLX (Apple), libwebp (BSD), libavif (BSD-2-Clause), FFmpeg/libav* (LGPL-2.1+, dynamically linked). Attribution and full license texts are available in the app's About screen.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
OtterPix is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, or non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to OtterPix is limited to the greater of (a) the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using OtterPix and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — license restrictions, disclaimers, limitations of liability — will survive.
12. Changes to these terms
We will update the "last updated" date when these terms change. Material changes will be announced on this page at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
